Fly Tying Schools
Trekker Fly Tying Schools are offered every winter to those wishing to learn the art of fly tying. This year, we are offering an Intermediate Fly Tying Course for those wishing to expand on their skills and knowledge base beyond that offered in introductory tying classes.
INTRODUCTION TO FLY TYING |

There's nothing more rewarding than catching a fish on a fly that you've tied yourself. From dubbing to hackles, our entry level class will give you a
solid foundation for this wonderful art. One of our resident professional
tyers will take you step-by-step through the basics of this rewarding
art. |

INTERMEDIATE FLY TYING CLASSES |
|
|
The lessons of the Intermediate Classes will focus on tying the fishable life cycles of the mayflies, caddis, stoneflies and midges. This intermediate level class will expand upon your skills and knowledge to allow you to better represent the hatch. Each student will be provided with enough materials for class and home practice. Tools will be supplied at class. As for the introductory classes, one of our resident professional tyers will take you step-by-step through the tying of various patterns for the various stages of insect development (nymph, larva, pupa, emerger, dun, spinner). We will use a insect species to represent the various stages the natural undergoes in its lifecycle. You will learn a pattern which can be modified to represent each stage of the natural's development. Time: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Dates: Starting Saturdays in February. See Calendar of Events. FLY TYERS ROUNDTABLE |

An inform gatering at the Wilderness Trekker and Old Lehigh Outfitters to break the winter cabin fever of our fly tying customers. We will discuss patterns, materials, techniques, etc. The topics will be selected by those there at the moment. Time: All Day. Dates: See Calendar of Events. Cost: FREE |
